The fragrance and flavor technology and engineering specialty of Yunnan Agricultural University was set up in 2019. In the 2019-2020 academic year, the fragrance and flavor technology and engineering specialty ranked second in China. Relying on Yunnan aromatic bioengineering center, Yunnan Key Laboratory for sustainable utilization of Plateau Characteristic spice plant resources in Colleges and universities, Yunnan Tobacco Science and engineering teaching experiment center, and based on the advantages of Yunnan's rich aromatic plant resources, three platforms, including quality education platform, professional education platform and practical teaching platform, public elective courses, common courses of disciplines The "three platform and five module" course system consists of five modules: specialized basic courses, professional core courses, professional elective courses, professional practice and practice. It offers 18 specialized courses, such as natural aroma materials, perfume plant cultivation and processing, daily flavor technology, edible flavor technology, new tobacco and flavoring technology, perfume separation and analysis, cosmetic microbiology, etc. Combined with the school enterprise cooperation, innovate the school running mode, and cultivate applied senior engineering and technical talents who can be employed in the production, processing and circulation of food, medicine, tobacco and daily chemical products.

There are 23 teachers including 3 professors, 8 associate professors and 11 doctors, including 1 doctoral supervisor, 8 master supervisors, and 3 young and middle-aged academic and technical leaders and reserve talents in Yunnan Province. At present, there are more than 20 research projects, including 5 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 3 provincial projects, 13 horizontal projects and 1 Yunnan Natural Science Award. At present, there are 81 undergraduates.
